Annual Providence St. Patrick Hospital Heart Expo is Saturday
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - Missoula’s Providence St. Patrick Hospital will present its annual Heart Expo this Saturday, with blood draws starting at 7:00 a.m. and medical lectures that begin at 8:00 a.m.
I spoke with Deb Sybrant, Physician Assistant in Cardiology at the Providence Heart Institute.
The Annual St. Patrick Hospital Heart Expo is Saturday in Missoula
“The Heart Expo is an annual event that we love providing for our local community. It's an opportunity for those of us at the St Patrick's Providence Heart Institute to showcase the latest treatment options that we have for cardiac patients right here in our community, here in Missoula,” began Sybrant.
Sybrant described the inexpensive medical tests that can be performed at the Heart Expo.
Multiple Medical Testing is Available at a Greatly Reduced Cost
“We have options such as a cholesterol panel for $15.00, a, blood sugar for $10.00, a hemoglobin a1c which is $15.00, a thyroid check which is $20.00 and a PSA check which is $20.00 and if you decided you wanted to do that whole panel, that'd be a total of $80.00”.
She provided more details about the blood draws and testing.
“The blood draws do start at seven in the morning, and you can go as long as 11 in the morning,” she said. “That's how long our lab bank will be open to draw blood. And we do ask that patients come fasting if they want to have their cholesterol checked, and also please pay by check or by cash, because we don't have any ability to run credit cards there.”
There Will Also be Informative Medical Lectures at the Event
Sybrant also described some of the helpful and informative lectures that will be given during the event on Saturday.
“We have a number of speakers, and our little mini-lecture series runs from eight in the morning until 11:00 a.m. and we have a cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr Anthony Cassinelli, who's very experienced,” she said. “He's new to us in this area, but not new to cardiothoracic surgery, and he's going to be giving us an update on some of the latest surgical techniques that can be used to help patients with heart issues.”
The doors will open at 7:00 a.m. for the blood draws, and again, please pay by cash or check only.
