Man Makes Knife Threats at a Missoula Bar and Dispensary
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 22, 2026, at approximately 7:19 p.m., Missoula Police Department officers were dispatched to 1609 W. Broadway Street after an employee of the Inn on Broadway, John Doe, requested law enforcement to respond. Doe reported that the hotel needed assistance to remove Jeremy West from room 109. Doe reported that after West was being disorderly, staff advised West he needed to leave the facility, but he refused to do so. Doe further explained that in the process, West threatened that he would use a knife if the hotel forced him out.
Upon arrival on scene, staff provided the officer with a key to the room. Upon investigating room 109, West was no longer present, and staff were advised to contact law enforcement if West returned. The officer also suggested the hotel cancel West’s keycard access to the room to prevent him from returning.
Approximately 5 minutes later, officers were dispatched back to the Inn on Broadway due to multiple callers reporting that West had returned and threatened patrons inside the Still Room, the bar connected to the Inn on Broadway.

The officer arrived at the Inn on Broadway and discovered that staff members had obtained the knife that West was reported to have used. The knife was a 4 inch long fixed blade with a sheath. Officers searched the area and located West walking in the hallway towards the room he was previously staying in. West first attempted to back away from law enforcement but was successfully stopped and detained.
Once a search incident to arrest was conducted, West was successfully placed into the back of the officer’s patrol vehicle. The officer then attempted to interview West and first read him his Miranda Rights, after which he refused to answer any questions and invoked.
West was transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility and successfully booked. After completing an arrest report, the officer overheard another call where an individual that had matched West’s description had brandished a knife at staff at Montana Kush located at 1935 Cooper Street approximately an hour prior.

On scene, an officer spoke with an employee who explained that West had come into the store earlier in the day demanding marijuana and acting disorderly towards staff when they refused to serve him without a valid ID. West then returned to the store at approximately 6:58 p.m. and again was disorderly, yelling and acting belligerent to staff. The employee told West he could not serve him based off his earlier behavior and asked him to leave. West grew more escalated, aggressive, and pulled a knife out while yelling at the employee.
West is currently being charged with felony assault with a weapon and felony aggravated burglary. His bond was set at $25,000.
