Tonight (Sept. 26), America — and the rest of the world, for that matter —watched as the leading candidates from the Democratic and Republican parties, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, faced off in the first presidential debate ahead of the upcoming 2016 election. The event was already forecasted to be the most-watched debate in television history.
The debate was held at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, and was moderated by NBC News’ Lester Holt. Topics included the economy, national security, domestic policy, climate change — and "temperament.
