With the unusually large volume of snowfall this winter, officials are on the lookout for possible flooding this spring. Michelle Mead with the National Weather Service office in Missoula says several ice jams on Lolo creek are drawing the attention of homeowners and forecasters..

Mead says despite portents of an early spring, Western Montana has plenty more winter weather to look forward to. In fact, Lookout Pass received more snow in one period last week than any other ski resort on earth..6 and a half feet.
