A Poplar man is charged with second-degree murder in the strangling death of another man last summer on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.

The Great Falls Tribune reports 25-year-old Adrien John Matuck made an initial appearance in federal court in Great Falls on Friday.

Court records allege Matuck and 33-year-old Raymond Joseph Brown got into a fistfight after Brown allegedly hit a woman in the face.

After the fight, Matuck, Brown and two other people went to a mobile home at about 4 a.m. Aug. 7. Brown fell asleep in a recliner.

Federal prosecutors allege Matuck strangled Brown with a rolled-up T-shirt.

A neighbor reported seeing Matuck bury a rolled-up gray T-shirt under a rock at about 7 a.m.

Court records say officers retrieved the T-shirt and found Matuck's DNA on it.
