Only Two Missoula City DUIs Over New Year’s Weekend
The number of DUIs in Missoula over the New Year's weekend were surprisingly low according to Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh.
"From Friday at 6:00 a.m. until Monday at 7:00 a.m. it looks like we had two DUI arrests, which is not bad at all," Welsh said. "Of course, we'd like to think that our education efforts are being heeded by people who are making the decision whether to drive or not after they've been drinking. Also, we feel like a lot of the inclement weather we've had recently has kept people off the roads."
Of course not everyone who drives drunk gets arrested, but two DUIs is less than Missoula often gets over the course of a normal weekend when four to six DUI's is fairly common.
