At around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Missoula Police Department officers found a man in the 1800 block of Sherwood Street who had outstanding warrants for his arrest. According to Sergeant Jim Klawitter, officers ended up arresting the man for a handful of other charges as well.

“Officers located a local transient who had some warrants out for his arrest for previous offenses, both felony and misdemeanor,” Klawitter said. “He was identified as Tyrell Chandler. Chandler is a 29-year-old Missoula transient, he doesn’t have a local address. When they arrested him, they found that he was in possession of drugs and also that he was a sexual offender who had not registered.”

Chandler is currently being held for felony probation violation, felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and failing to register as a sexual or violent offender, which is also a felony. The drug that Chandler had in his possession later tested positive for methamphetamine.
