Montana Student That was Stabbed Recovering in Hospital
BELGRADE, Mont. (AP) — A Montana State-Northern student who was stabbed during a weekend home invasion in Havre remains hospitalized in Billings as she recovers from more than 20 stab wounds.
The family of 19-year-old Taylor Woolman tells the Belgrade News the one of the stab wounds Woolman suffered early on May 2 pierced her brain.
On May 3 she woke up and squeezed her parents' hands and wiggled her right foot, but could not move her left leg or foot. Her family says she answered questions by writing on a piece of paper because she was still on a breathing tube.
Another victim, 19-year-old Sam Mix, was stabbed 45 times. Dean Mix told KIRO-TV in Seattle that the doctors at Harborview Medical Center said it was a miracle his son survived such a brutal attack.
Another student, 20-year-old Alicia Schneid, suffered seven stab wounds.
