Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - Montana Senator Steve Daines held a press conference on Wednesday at the Denver airport on his way home after spending the day at the southern border.

KGVO News and several other state media outlets were on the call, as Daines provided truly shocking statistics straight from the U.S. Border Patrol.

Daines Shared the Shocking Southern Border Statistics

“We've had over 7 million apprehensions on the southern border since President Biden took office,” began Senator Daines. “Put that in perspective. That is the equivalent of adding three cities of Chicago to the United States. What's even more troubling is that the U.S. Border Patrol has told us that there have been about 1.5 million known ‘got-aways’ since President Biden took office.”

Daines brought the numbers of illegal migrants down to the daily count.

“Speaking here tonight, we're seeing about 11,000 crossings per day,” he said. “In fact in the first 10 days of October, illegal crossings are up about 17 percent, and that is what they told me today, and on top of a flood of migrants coming across, of course we see the flood of drugs of fentanyl and meth that are also overwhelming our border patrol agents in the South as they're trying to deal with millions crossing our border.”

Daines Provided some Eye Opening Statistics about Who is Crossing the Border

Melding together the U.S. southern border with the conflicts in the Middle East, Daines provided some eye-opening revelations about just who is crossing the U.S. southern border.

“Just in the last 10 days or so since the first of October, border patrol agents have apprehended individuals from Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, North Korea, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, and Yemen.”

Daines also Encouraged President Biden to Stand behind Israel against Hamas

Referencing the breakout of war between Israel and Hamas and other Islamic terrorist organizations, Daines urged the Biden administration to stand by its ally Israel in the ongoing conflict.

"The past few days have shown that the world is a very dangerous place. Whether that's the Middle East, or the southern border where I got a firsthand look at today. The United States needs to rise to the occasion. It needs to help Israel defend itself, but it also must secure our southern border.

Daines then boarded his flight back to Washington, D.C.
