The Montana Department of Revenue is increasing staff and availability in the run up to Tax Day. "Every year before Tax Day, April 15, we expand our call center hours to better accommodate taxpayers who need to call in with questions about filing their taxes,:" said Montana Department of Revenue Public Information Officer Molly Peterson. "Normally our hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but starting this Saturday, April 11, you'll be able to call the Department of Revenue and get advise from a real person between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m."

Peterson says the Department of Revenue has been busy, processing thousands of income tax reforms.

"We have processed over 317,000 individual income tax returns and we have sent out over 257,000 refunds so far," Peterson said. "Right now the refunds are averaging $417 a person, but that adds up to over $107 million in refunds."

The toll free phone number for the department of Revenue Call center is (866) 859-2254.
