Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On January 19, 2025, Missoula Police Department Officers were dispatched to an assault call that occurred at a restaurant. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with several individuals about what occurred. The manager said she heard some yelling near her office and saw 38-year-old Leo Dillon arguing with another employee, John Doe.

The manager got in between them and tried pushing Dillon away from Doe. Dillon swung at Doe, but the manager was unable to see if Dillon hit Doe. The manager then led Dillon to the office. Doe was following stating he was going to call the police. Dillon then forcefully hit Doe’s phone out of his hands causing it to fall on the ground after bouncing off the wall.

An officer spoke to Doe who said Dillon became upset after he told him he should not flirt with the younger employees. He said Dillon pushed him and they got in each other’s faces. The manager then came out to separate them. While the manager was pushing Dillon back, Dillon swung and hit Doe on the right side of his neck.

Then the officer spoke to another employee who said he was at the cooking station when he saw Dillon and Doe yelling and getting in each other’s faces. He said he saw Dillon hit Doe in the face. Then the officer spoke to a female who said she saw the entire altercation. She also said she saw Dillon hit Doe in the face.

Dillon told the officer that he had had previous issues with Doe and that they got into an argument today. He said Doe made racial slurs multiple times. Dillon stated Doe “over-exaggerated” when he hit his phone. Dillon then went into the office until law enforcement arrived.

Due to the witness statements, the officer arrested Dillon. Another manager brought the officer Dillon’s wallet because he left it with the manager. The officer determined Dillon was on probation and contacted the on-call probation officer about what occurred. The on-call probation officer noted Dillon has had recent drug issues and requested a search of Dillon and his belongings.

The officer searched Dillon’s wallet and found two baggies of a white substance that the officer recognized as either cocaine or fentanyl powder. The officer conducted a field test on the white substance, which resulted in a presumptive positive for cocaine.

Dillon was transported to the jail. He is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $20,000.
