Missoula Police Uncover Drugs and Weapons in Routine Traffic Stop
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On January 10, 2025, Missoula Police Department Officers conducted a traffic stop on South 3rd Street. An officer approached the vehicle and spoke to the driver who immediately explained he did not have a driver’s license and the vehicle was not his. He said a friend let him borrow the vehicle. The passenger in the vehicle, identified as 35-year-old Tammany Andrade, said the driver just picked her up for a ride and that she did not know him.
Dispatch advised that Andrade had outstanding warrants and was on probation. The officer contacted the on-call probation officer who confirmed that Andrade was on probation. Law enforcement had Andrade exit the vehicle to arrest her on her warrants. During a search incident to arrest, law enforcement found a white cap to a syringe. Andrade explained she found it on the ground and picked it up.
The on-call probation officer requested officers search any bags or purses belonging to Andrade and the immediate area of where she was seated in the vehicle. Andrade stated she did not have any other property inside the vehicle. However, the driver told the officer that Andrade had several bags on her person, including a clear female purse located behind the passenger seat.
During the probation search, law enforcement located a 9mm handgun under the passenger seat. Law enforcement further located several syringes with suspected methamphetamine inside, cash, butane torches, and other items. Based on this, law enforcement decided to stop the probation search, seize the vehicle, and applied for a search warrant for the vehicle.
The officer had further discussions with the driver who said Andrade was “freaking out” when they were pulled over. He further stated that Andrade and another male were at the parking lot of the male's apartment complex. He reported they were injecting methamphetamine through syringes earlier that day, which he said Andrade supplied. The male was called by law enforcement and denied knowing Andrade.

Andrade was mirandized and spoke to law enforcement. Andrade made several statements that seemed odd to law enforcement but ultimately denied ownership of the purse and wrongdoing. After leaving Missoula County Detention Facility, an officer field tested the suspected drugs in the syringes, which resulted in a presumptive positive for methamphetamine.
Andrade is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $25,000.
