A 36-year-old Missoula man who drove drunk and caused a crash that killed his passenger has been sentenced to 20 years in prison with 15 years suspended.

District Judge John Larson sentenced Daniel Rogers on Thursday for the Oct. 26 crash that killed 32-year-old David Mischock of Oregon. Rogers must serve two years before becoming eligible for parole.

Authorities say his blood-alcohol content was more than 2½ times the legal limit for driving when he apparently missed a curve and crashed into Missoula's Sacajawea Park.

Rogers pleaded guilty in March to vehicular homicide while driving under the influence.

The judge rejected the plea agreement that would have sent Rogers to a treatment program rather than prison.
