With some of the most disparate prices at the pump, Missoula driver's have a lot to be happy about, but also a lot to watch out for. With March speeding quickly out of the rear view mirror, here's how Montana matches up to the national average.

"Montana has seen about a four cent increase to $2.25," said gasbuddy.com Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan."Nationally, prices are unchanged and stand at about $2.43. Montana's price today, still far lower than last year, in fact about 98 cents lower than a year ago. Nationally, prices are about $1.10 lower than a year ago."

Prices around the state tend to be lowest in the biggest cities, with the lowest prices in Billings. Some cities, like Missoula, have prices all over the place.

"Billings at $2.09, Helena at $2.11, Great Falls at $2.12, and the cheapest station in Missoula is at $2.14," DeHaan said. "On the high side, stations in Plentywood are at $2.63, Culbertson and $2.52, along with one station in Missoula, a Conaco at $2.39."

Prices have been rising in Montana for over month, even though oil prices reached a six year low, in mid-March.
