Missoula Crime Report: Successful Sting Operation Occurred This Week
The Missoula County Attorney’s Office charged 14 new criminal complaints this week, which is five less than last week and closer to the weekly average. County Attorney Kirsten Pabst said four of those cases involved partner or family member assault.
“In one, the victim was driving a car and the defendant allegedly grabbed the steering wheel, causing the car to go off the road and hit a tree,” Pabst said. “In another, the defendant allegedly pushed the victim into a bathtub, fracturing some of her ribs. The defendant also allegedly strangled her. In one of the partner or family member assault cases, the defendant physically assaulted his daughter.”
In addition, Pabst said a woman was charged with resisting arrest and assault on a peace officer. She allegedly punched an officer in the groin.

“We also charged a case involving two counts of sexual abuse of children,” Pabst said. “In that case, the defendant was soliciting purported 12 and 13-year-olds online. That was part of a larger sting operation and he was arrested. We charged three felony DUIs. In one of those, the defendant was observed nodding off behind the wheel of his running vehicle, clearly impaired. While in the patrol car, the defendant allegedly attempted to stash a pill. During the search, another pill was located.”
That defendant was also charged with criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
“In another, the defendant was allegedly passed out in his vehicle in the middle of the road with the vehicle running, in drive, and the defendant’s foot on the brake,” Pabst said. “We charged three theft cases. Two involved a stolen vehicle and the other involved a stolen ankle monitoring unit.”
Finally, Pabst said her office charged one new possession of methamphetamine case. You can listen to Pabst’s full report below:
