Missoula Crime Report: Animal Cruelty and Drugs Near Children
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - The Missoula County Attorney’s Office charged 13 new criminal complaints this week, which is seven less than last week and less than the weekly average. According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, more than half of those involved crimes of violence or crimes against persons.
“A good handful of those involved intimate partner violence or family violence,” Pabst said. “Two of the domestics involved an assault with a weapon. There were a couple of strangulation cases as well as some partner family member assaults. One person was charged with at least seven counts of animal cruelty. In that case, the allegation is that the defendant threw his ex’s belongings out into the cold, including seven small animals, some of which perished.”

Pabst said her office also charged a deliberate homicide case.
“The allegation is that Ronald Duggan allegedly shot a man who was inside of a tent with a .22 and it caused some serious damage,” Pabst said. “The victim did not survive those injuries. We also charged several counts of sexual abuse of children involving people who came to Missoula or made efforts to engage in sexual conduct with minors.”
