Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - At approximately 4:05 p.m. on June 13, 2025, multiple Missoula Police Department officers were dispatched to a physical disturbance between 45-year-old Michael Harrison and an adult male, John Doe. The incident started at Collective Elevation.

An officer arrived and recognized Harrison from previous professional encounters. The officer noticed his head was covered in what appeared to be blood. The officer asked dispatch to send medical personnel to his location immediately.

Harrison became upset and stated he needed medical attention, not police officers. The officer informed him that they were on the way. Harrison stood up, and the officer ordered him to sit down, but Harrison began to walk away. The officer grabbed Harrison’s wrist, and Harrison physically pulled away. He actively resisted arrest, but officers eventually placed him in handcuffs.

Harrison Refuses Treatment

Medical personnel arrived on scene, and Harrison was extremely uncooperative with them. They informed him that he needed to be seen at the hospital due to the large cut on his head, however, he advised that he did not consent to treatment. Harrison eventually allowed himself to be escorted by medical staff onto a stretcher. He then made more derogatory comments to officers.

Then an officer spoke with John Doe. John Doe said that he had entered the store and saw that Harrison had just finished his purchase and was about to leave. John Doe stated that Harrison then turned to him and stated something to the effect of “Oh, you remember me?” John Doe stated that Harrison then walked up to him, headbutted him, grabbed his skateboard, and left the building.

John Doe said he attempted to confront Harrison outside to obtain his skateboard. He said Harrison became aggressive towards him and lunged at him. However, John Doe said he was able to place Harrison in a chokehold, and they both went to the ground.

911 is Called

He began to ease the pressure on the chokehold and got up, but Harrison continued to lie on the ground. Then he asked people nearby to call 911 and waited outside of the establishment to talk with law enforcement.

John Doe was adamant about law enforcement seeing the surveillance footage, stating it would prove his case. An employee who had reviewed the footage told the officer that John Doe was not the aggressor and that Harrison had instigated the event. She stated John Doe appeared to be just attempting to get his skateboard back. She also relayed that a woman, Jane Doe, attempted to separate the two but was ultimately assaulted by Harrison.

Harrison is currently being charged with felony robbery, assault, obstructing a peace officer, and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $25,000.
