Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On October 17, 2023, Missoula Montana Airport announced that Sun Country Airlines would make its debut at MSO on June 26. According to Airport Director Brian Ellestad, the low-cost carrier will have nonstop flights to their Minneapolis/St. Paul hub.  

“The seasonal flight will run twice a week, every Wednesday and Saturday, until August 24th, providing the community with a fantastic and flexible summer travel option,” Ellestad said. “Tickets are on sale now.” 

Larry Anderson, Chair of the Airport Board, expressed his excitement, stating, “We extend a warm welcome to Sun Country Airlines at Missoula Montana Airport. This growth in air service at MSO offers our community another convenient and affordable travel solution that caters to the diverse needs of our region.”  

Ellestad said Sun Country Airlines is known for its commitment to passenger comfort and entertainment. 

“They have a modern fleet featuring a Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft,” Ellestad said. “Passengers can enhance their travel experience with complimentary entertainment streamed to their devices on most flights. The aircraft’s spacious interiors are equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, including full-size tray tables, comfortable recline, and in-seat power in most seats, ensuring a pleasant and enjoyable journey.” 

Currently, five airlines serve Missoula Montana Airport: Alaska, Allegiant, American, Delta, and United. Airlines at MSO collectively provide nonstop flights to: Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Oakland, Orange County, Phoenix-Mesa, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle (some routes are seasonal).

Ellestad said Missoula Montana Airport is financially self-supporting; no local tax revenues are used for the administration, promotion, operation, or maintenance of the Airport.
