Police Uncover Meth and Needles During Missoula Traffic Stop
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On December 31, 2025, a Missoula Police Department officer was patrolling when he was advised by a MPD Task Force Detective that a uniformed patrol officer’s assistance was requested to initiate a traffic stop. The detective relayed that he had observed a green jeep leaving a house known to law enforcement for distributing dangerous drugs.
The officer was informed that the vehicle was occupied by 33-year-old Alexander Spencer, a known probationer. The detective followed the vehicle until the officer initiated a traffic stop. The officer found that a female was driving, and Spencer was in the front passenger seat.
The officer was informed by a probation officer that the Jeep was in probation’s system. The detective informed Spencer that probation was requesting a search of the vehicle and that they were on their way to the traffic stop.

The officer began to search the Jeep, finding that the glove box and center console were locked. The officer found a Jeep key on a lanyard that he was able to utilize to unlock the glove box and center console. Inside the glove box, the officer found a small baggie with several crystals of what he immediately recognized as methamphetamine. The crystals were later tested utilizing the TruNarc and were found to be methamphetamine. The total product weight was later determined to be 3.49 grams.
The officer also found a “meth bong” as well as a hypodermic needle. The officer found multiple used and unused needles in the center console, along with numerous caps for needles. The officer also found that one of the needles contained approximately 10 units of a liquid. Amongst the needles, the officer found a metal tin that looked similar to the top of a mason jar and appeared to have once had liquid in it that had evaporated, leaving behind discoloration and a white crystalline residue.
