MANHATTAN, Mont. (AP) — Manhattan police say a woman was held captive in her own home by a man who had walked away from a Bozeman pre-release center.

Charles Rickett made an initial appearance Monday in Gallatin County Justice Court on a kidnapping charge, where bond was set at $50,000.

Police say that Rickett appeared in the woman's bedroom Sunday morning.

The Manhattan police statement says that Rickett bound and blindfolded the woman. He later left in the woman's car.

The woman was eventually able alert a neighbor, who called police.

Rickett was found in Manhattan about an hour later and arrested.

Rickett was convicted in 2007 on charges of conspiracy for burglary and theft, accountability for money laundering and criminal mischief.

It was not immediately clear whether he knew the victim.
