At around 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, Missoula police officers were called to a casino located in the 1200 block of West Broadway. A male was yelling inside the business and was causing a disturbance. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“The officers arrived and made contact with 49-year-old Orlando Perew,” Welsh said. “While they were speaking to Mr. Perew, he suddenly broke and attempted to run toward and exit where he was met by other officers. The officers attempted to take him into custody, but Mr. Perew resisted and actually tried to headbutt one of the officers. He was tased by another officer.”

Officers placed Perew into custody and he was transported to the Missoula County Jail. While at the jail, Perew was found to be in possession of a substance that was later determined to be methamphetamine.

He is currently being held for obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest, and criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
