Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On October 18, 2024, Missoula Police Department officers were dispatched to the Johnson Street Shelter. Staff members reported that 29-year-old Aaron Felde was instigating fights inside the shelter. They wanted Felde trespassed for 30 days.

Officers arrived, spoke to Felde, and noticed that his face was covered in blood. Officers asked to address his injuries, but Felde declined assistance. They told Felde that he was free to leave and that he needed to remove himself from the property, but Felde stated that he was not leaving.

As officers were speaking to staff members, they observed Felde run over to a patrol car. Felde jumped onto the hood of the car and kicked the windshield, causing damage. Officers pulled him to the ground and placed him in handcuffs. The windshield shattered in two separate spots. According to the officer, the replacement costs of the windshield and hood were $1,043.91. He estimated that the total cost of replacement and repair would be $1,600.

Felde was taken to St. Patrick’s Hospital for medical clearance. An officer reported that Felde intentionally went limp, pushed backward, and overall resisted their efforts to escort him inside the facility. Once inside the examination room, Felde remained uncooperative. He exhibited signs of intoxication and a combative nature. For the safety of officers and staff, the officers determined that it was not safe to remove his restraints.

Felde repeatedly lashed out at officers and hospital security staff. An officer observed Felde kick a security officer. The security officer stated that Felde kicked him in the testicles and that the blow caused him pain once the adrenaline wore off.

Another officer reported, that after Felde’s shirt was removed at the hospital, Felde “looked at the officer and deliberately spit blood and snot at him.” Security officers responded by placing a hood over Felde’s head to prevent him from spitting on any other personnel in the room.

Eventually, Felde was medically cleared and was transferred to the Missoula County Detention Facility. He is currently being charged with felony criminal mischief, assault with a bodily fluid, assault, obstructing a peace officer, and disorderly conduct. His bond was set at $25,000.
