Jordan Johnson Named BIg Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week
It was no contest. The Big Sky Conference has named University of Montana quarterback Jordan Johnson the ROOT Sports offensive player of the week for his performance on Saturday night, September 14, against the University of North Dakota.
In a press release sent out Monday, September 16, Montana Sports Information reported that Johnson, a 6–1, 200-pound junior from Eugene, Ore., set a Big Sky Conference single-game pass efficiency record in Montana’s 55-17 non-conference win at North Dakota. Johnson completed 15-of-19 passes for a career-high 354 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions for an efficiency rating of 322.3.
Johnson guided the Grizzlies to touchdowns on all eight drives he played. He threw touchdown passes of 70, 52, 35, 6, and 51 yards.He also rushed for 21 yards to finish with 375 yards of total offense. As a team, Montana finished with 609 yards of offense. This is Johnson’s second player of the week award.
Joining Johnson were Northern Arizona safety Lucky Dozier as the Defensive Player of the Week, while Idaho State kicker Brendon Garcia was tabbed the Special Teams Player of the Week.
The Grizzlies will be back at home Saturday for a game against Division 2 independent Oklahoma Panhandle State, with kickoff at 1 p.m.
