It's not every day you get a chance to be part of a world record, but that's exactly what's happening right here in Montana this summer.

Meet the Record Holders: Ryan Hanavan and Family

I recently caught up with Ryan Hanavan, coach of the Missoula Wild lacrosse team and a world record holder himself. Hanavan and his sons already hold multiple world records, and now they're setting their sights on another one.

Hanavan and his oldest son, Logan, hold lacrosse world records for the most two-ball passes in a minute, the most single-ball passes in a minute, and the most passes completed in one hour. He also holds a world record with his younger son, Cameron, for the most lacrosse balls in a pyramid, using 700 balls.

The Challenge Ahead: Breaking the Longest Lacrosse Game Record

On July 25 and 26 at the Sports Barn in Missoula, they'll attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest box lacrosse game ever played.

The current record stands at more than 24 hours, so they're aiming even higher with a 26-hour nonstop game. If that wasn't challenging enough, Hanavan plans to referee the entire thing himself.

Calling All Players: Be Part of History

Right now, organizers are looking for lacrosse players from across Montana to take part. Whether you're a longtime player or just someone who loves the sport, they're encouraging men and women of all skill levels to sign up.

Anyone who participates in the record-breaking game will be officially included in the world record attempt and will receive a commemorative jersey.

Support Our Heroes: A Fundraiser for Veterans

The event is also serving as a fundraiser for Shootout for Soldiers, a nonprofit that supports veterans and active-duty military members through lacrosse.

If you'd like to be part of the world record attempt, reach out to Brown Bear Lacrosse through their social media channels.

Hanavan has experience with applying for and achieving official world records. The date is set for this official attempt.
