Montana has become a favorite escape for celebrities, athletes, and anyone looking to get away from the spotlight for a while.

Athletes Embrace Big Sky Country

Every summer, it seems like another famous face is spotted somewhere in Big Sky Country. I'll admit, for some reason I dig it when I hear about about professional athletes spending their downtime here.

One of my favorite celebrity sightings happened a few years ago when NHL superstar Sidney Crosby was spotted skating on an outdoor rink in Big Sky just before the All-Star Game. Someone recognized him, grabbed a quick video, and it was one of those "Only in Montana" moments.

We also are aware that Tom Brady is a member of the Yellowstone Club, and spends a lot of time in Montana.

I think Montana offers something a lot of people are searching for. Wide-open spaces, fresh air, incredible scenery, and the chance to unplug for a few days.

John Harbaugh: A Retreat Before the Season

It looks like that's exactly what New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh was after before returning to work for the upcoming NFL season.

Embracing Outdoor Adventures

Based on photos shared to his official Instagram account, Harbaugh spent time enjoying some of the best outdoor activities Montana has to offer.

  • Whitewater rafting
  • Golfing
  • Yellowstone National Park

Harbaugh is back at work, and will be coaching the Giants this season for the first time.

With NFL training camps underway and the regular season now just weeks away, it was one last chance to recharge before the grind of another football season.

Hopes for a Winning Season

There are plenty of New York Giants fans here in Montana, I work with two of them. I'm sure they're hoping that a relaxing vacation in Big Sky Country is exactly what their coach needed before trying to lead the Giants to a winning season this fall.
