
Farmer’s Almanac Forecasts Montana’s First Frost Dates ’24
Montana has seen some weather recently that has felt almost like Autumn could be on the way. We are losing a few minutes of daylight every day and that means we will be seeing the leaves changing color soon. There have been sightings of Halloween decorations and pumpkin spice flavored products on local shelves. The long term forecast for Montana's winter is available.

Before we get to winter, for local gardeners and golf courses, we have to deal with Autumn. Before the official start of Autumn Montana will see frost and that may be happening sooner than you think. The Old Farmer's Almanac has forecasted that Montana will have a warmer than average fall. But for Montana frost will be on the way, much sooner than when fall will arrive. Here are the forecasts for the first frost in parts of Montana.

Anaconda September 8th

Billings September 26th

Bozeman September 16th

Butte August 31st

Great Falls September 25th

Hamilton September 16th

Helena September 25th

Kalispell September 4th

Livingston September 7th

Missoula September 26th
Even though it may not feel like it now, the frost will be coming for some places as soon as the end of this month. Then Before you know it, we will be warning gardeners in Montana to "cover your pumpkins".
