Montana and the rest of the country just saw an increase in the price of a first-class postage stamps in 2024. They asked me a lot of questions about what was in the package I was mailing. There are a lot of things that you can't legally mail in Montana. There are also a lot of things that, surprisingly, you can mail in Montana and across the country.

Balloons- You can mail inflated balloons as long as they are not helium filled. If they are helium filled you will need to box them up. There is no guarantee that the balloon get there all in one piece or still inflated.
Beach Ball- Similar to a balloon, you can mail an inflated beach ball. Make sure you write the address legibly and pay postage. There is no guarantee it will get to it's final location fully inflated.
My hat is off to all the hard working Montana postal workers out there that have to deal with delivering the mail day in and day out. Not only do they have to deal with trying to read my bad handwriting, but now they will have to deal with me sending potatoes to friends in the mail.
