The portal giveth, the portal taketh and sometimes the portal idles and does nothing.

Earlier this week, Griz quarterback Clifton McDowell announced he was entering the transfer portal. McDowell took to Twitter to say "I would like to thank University of Montana and the coaching staff for allowing me to be apart of such a historic season.Grateful for all the memories made this season. Extremely thankful for all the love I have received from the state of Montana ,it was truly one of a kind. After great consideration and prayer I have decided to enter the transfer portal with one year of eligibility remaining."

On top of McDowell, three other Griz are transferring - Wide Receiver Nick Williams, Running Back Iverson Young and Offensive Lineman Ethan Barney. The latter three entries won't affect the team in terms of losing snaps and production.

Enough about departures, we have some great news:

The all-world kick/punt returner announced on Instagram today (January 12) that he wants to "run it back."

Let's go! Griz fans everywhere should celebrate. Bergen has done it all for Montana. He set the record for total return touchdowns in the history of Montana Football. Not to mention he created multiple iconic moments in this year's playoffs en route to a National Championship appearance.
