Navy Week is Coming to Billings
If you’re the kind of person who gets goosebumps from a low-flying F/A-18 or still instinctively looks up when a jet screams overhead, go ahead and circle August 17th to the 23rd on your calendar. That’s when Navy Week is dropping anchor in Billings, and the timing couldn’t be better.
The announcement from the Navy Office of Community Outreach confirms Billings as one of just 12 stops nationwide for Navy Week in 2026, a year that already carries extra historical weight. The visit lands smack in the middle of the Yellowstone International Airshow, headlined by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, making this less of a coincidence and more of a full-blown patriotic crossover episode.

The event brings the Navy to Big Sky Country.
Navy Weeks are designed for cities like Billings, places without a massive fleet presence but with deep ties to service, sacrifice, and the “get it done” mindset. The goal is simple: connect everyday Americans with the people, missions, and technology that help protect our country, from the ocean floor to the edge of space.
2026 marks 250 years of American independence, and the Navy is leaning into it with what they’re calling the Road Trip to 250. During a typical Navy Week, 50 to 100 Sailors fan out across the community, taking part in school visits, volunteer projects, public performances by the U.S. Navy Band, and ceremonial demonstrations.

Over the past two decades, the Navy has brought more than 300 Navy Weeks to over 100 U.S. cities, and this August, it’s Billings’ turn again. Between Navy Week events on the ground and jets tearing up the sky at the Yellowstone International Airshow, this one’s shaping up to be a standout moment in Montana’s 2026 summer lineup.
