Beloved Missoula Restaurant Supported By UM Closing For 2 Months
I'm about to type out one of those phrases you've been hearing a lot over the past couple of years, so try not to roll your eyes and toss your phone and/or computer across the room when you see it written.
Ok, ready? Here we go.
Due to staffing shortages - (CRASH!) Hey, I told you not to toss your phone! Cut it out and read the dang story!
Yes, staffing shortages have affected yet another place here in town, but at least this time it seems to be only temporary. The Iron Griz American Bistro in Missoula announced earlier this month that they would be taking some time off for all of February and most of March. The restaurant plans to reopen on March 29th.
They made the announcement in a Facebook post:
Thank you to everyone who has supported us over these last few months. With staffing shortages affecting everyone in...

The Missoulian has more info about the closure if you need it, too.
The Iron Griz is unique to Missoula because it's a restaurant that's entirely operated by the University of Montana Campus Dining department, meaning a lot of students of the college work there. The closure will allow Iron Griz employees to help out in other locations on campus that are currently short-staffed, and hopefully give the restaurant some time to recruit new employees before the planned reopening date.
So it is a bummer that the Iron Griz is closing, but at least it's just for a little bit. A lot of other restaurants in Missoula have had to close permanently over the last two years, so it'll be good to see them back up and running on March 29th.
