The Montana Senate has agreed in an initial vote to authorize the state to borrow about $100 million for projects around the State. If it passes a final vote on the measure, it will return to the house. That body  has approved a version of the bill. Most of the money would go for building, upgrading classrooms, and labs. State Senator Bob Hawks explains why he believes this is necessary.

Opponents include Senator Jason Priest.

The discussion to spend money is happening in a Legislative Session largely dedicated to cutting government spending.
