The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded $641,578 in grant money  to the Salish Kootenai Housing Authority in Pablo, Montana.

Field Office Director for HUD, Erik Amundson says this was a competitive  grant program and is please that the money was awarded to those in need in Montana.(My interview with Mr. Amundson is attached below)

The funding can also be used to build infrastructure such as roads, water and sewer facilities. Amundson says the competitive grants are provided through HUD's indian community development block grant program to support a wide variety of community development and affordable housing activities.
