Health Department – No Vaccinations for 12-15 Year Olds Yet
The Missoula City-County Health Department announced on Tuesday that is not yet vaccinating 12 to 15-year-old children, nor are they yet booking those appointments.
Many parents have expressed a desire to book vaccine appointments for this age group, and while they expect appointments to open soon, they have not as yet.
The Health Department is asking parents not to attempt to make a vaccination appointment for this age group until an official announcement has been made.
The Health Department will announce the opening of these appointments via a press release, their Facebook page, www.covid19.missoula.co, and www.missoulainfo.com.
The reason for the delay is while the Food and Drug Administration authorized the use of Pfizer in this age group on Monday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is not expected to sign off on this until Wednesday.
When that occurs, the Health Department will then need to review the updated guidance from the CDC before they can vaccinate the 12 to 15 age group.
