The University of Montana men's tennis team begins the fall season Friday when it heads to Cheney, Wash., to play in the Eastern Washington University Fall Classic.

The tournament brings together nine teams from around the Northwest, including Pac-12 school Oregon, Boise State from the Mountain West and Portland and Gonzaga from the West Coast Conference.

The Grizzlies are hoping to build on last season's late run that helped the team secure the second seed in Big Sky Conference tournament.

Montana returns two of its three all-conference members from that team in senior Carl Kuschke who was first team all-conference and sophomore Mikolaj Caruk, who nabbed second team honors.

Play starts at 9 a.m. PST all three days and continues well into the evening.
