Tribal Biologist, Dan Carney has received the 2010 Recovery Champion Award for his conservation work on grizzly bears on the Blackfeet Nation Reservation and in the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem. Grizzly Bear Recovery Coordinator with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Kris Servheen says Carney has developed the recovery program over a 23 year period.

 Carney  has worked closely with the Tribal Council and the Federal Authorities to repopulate the grizzly bear habitat across the Reservation.
