Great Falls Man is Arrested in Missoula for Having Drugs and an Outstanding Warrant
Just after 4:30 Tuesday, a man with an outstanding warrant was apprehended by local law enforcement. Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.
“Agents from the U.S. Marshalls Office and Probation and Parole had stopped a male who was wanted on an outstanding felony warrant out of the state of Montana,” Welsh said. “They identified Rand Heath as the driver of a vehicle they were following, but they eventually initiated a stop and took Mr. Heath into custody in the 700 block of East Broadway.”
After further investigation, officers discovered that Mr. Heath was involved in additional criminal activity.
“The officers conducted a search of Mr. Heath’s vehicle and discovered that he was in possession of marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia,” Welsh said. “Those items of evidence were turned over to a Missoula police officer who then logged them in, initiated a new drug investigation case, and transported Mr. Heath, who is 28-years-old and out of the city of Great Falls, to the Missoula County Detention Center.”
Mr. Heath is currently being held for his outstanding warrant, felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a handful of other misdemeanor offenses.
