A fugitive couple out of Oregon was apprehended in a stolen car early in the morning on Monday, October 7.

Sergeant Tony Rio with the Missoula County Sheriff's Office said the couple's car was stopped along the road when a deputy pulled in behind them to investigate.

"At about 3:15 this morning, a deputy on patrol noticed a vehicle pulled over on the side of the road in the Highway 12 area," Rio said. "After running the Oregon plates, the deputy was notified that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Oregon."

Rio said at that point, the deputy called for backup, and waited for other deputies to arrive.

"A short time later another couple of deputies arrived, and they contacted the individuals inside the vehicle," Rio said. "A 22 year-old male and a 38 year-old female were subsequently arrested for possession of stolen property. After running their names, deputies found that both individuals were wanted on 'no-bond' probation violation warrants out of LeGrande, Oregon."

Rio said a 'no-bond' warrant means the two cannot be released on bail, but must be returned to Oregon to face charges. They were transported to the Missoula County Detention Center.
