Frenchtown Arson Leads to Mullan Road Drama

An early morning fire at a beauty salon in Frenchtown quickly led to an arson investigation. Missoula County Sheriff’s Detective Rich Maricelli says the man allegedly responsible for the fire was in a pickup truck watching the fire not far away on Mullan Road. Maricelli says investigators surrounded the man’s truck and after about an hour, were able to talk him into surrendering himself to authorities..

33 year-old Shawn Gawronski will face arson charges, and possibly other serious charges against personal property on Tuesday. He is currently in the Missoula County Jail on $50,000 bond.
