With a resume that goes far beyond tremendous accomplishments at the University of Montana, a Grizzly will get his due!

Division I-AA champion. All-American. Walter Payton Award winner. Grey Cup Champion. Canadian Football MVP, Hall of Famer and Coach of the Year. On Monday, the National Football Foundation announced that Montana Grizzly football great Dave Dickenson will be recognized as one of the greatest college football players of all time as a member of the College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2018. He is only the second player ever from the state of Montana to be inducted into the hall, following in the long-ago footsteps of Wild Bill Kelly, who was inducted in 1969.

Dickenson, who led the Griz to their first national championship in 1995 and whose number 15 jersey is retired, will be one of nine players and three coaches inducted into the Hall of Fame during a ceremony December 4 in Atlanta. Consider this: Approximately 5.26 million athletes have played and/or coached college football. There are just under 1,000 players and 217 coaches who have been inducted.

Just like when he was a player, considered too small to ever be a great quarterback, Dave defies the odds and his Montana legacy lives on. Griz Nation is very proud of you, Dave!!!
