Election Day is Tuesday, June 2, and County Elections Administrator Bradley Seaman has important information for all Missoula county voters.

“I think the biggest area is that we will have five drive-through drop-off locations, open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.” said Seaman. “One will be at the Fairgrounds, one will be at Lolo School, one will be a Frenchtown Fire Station, one at Bonner School and one at the Seeley Lake Elementary School.”

Seaman provided basic information for those who haven’t even opened their mail-in ballot yet.

“In a primary, you’re going to get every eligible ballot, so you’ll get a ballot for the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, the Green Party, and depending upon where you live, the Libertarian Party,” he said. “You’ll pick just one ballot to vote. Fill out that ballot and then you’ll seal that inside the secrecy envelope. You’ll sign the affirmation envelope and then drop off the ballot at any of our drop-off locations on Election Day.”

Seaman then explained why there will be longer wait times at the new Elections Center on North Russell.

“At the elections center, part of the governor’s directive required us to help enforce social distancing for voters and members of the public,” he said. “That means we’ll have limited services due to the number of people we’re able to safely inside our building on Election Day. We really want to encourage voters that if you need a new ballot the only place you can get one is at 140 North Russell, at the corner of Wyoming and Russell Street. While you’re there you can expect longer than normal wait times due to the fact that we need to limit the size of our gathering inside the building.”

All ballots must be received and available for counting by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2.
