Do you know what is in your medicine cabinet? Chances are you have medications that you don’t need or are expired. April 30th marks the second nationwide prescription drug take-back day, where people can turn in expired or unwanted medications to be disposed of properly. More than 4,700 sites will be participating nationwide. The take-back day and initiatives such as Attorney General Steve Bullock's operation medicine cabinet are responses to the epidemic of prescription drug abuse in the united states.  Public Health Nurse at the Missoula City-County Health Department, Kari Sproull  says this is an important event to take part in.

Sproull says the number of Americans abusing prescription drugs far exceeds those abusing cocaine, hallucinogens and heroin combined. You can dispose of your pills from ten in the morning until two in the afternoon at the  Southgate Mall, by the clock and the Missoula Senior Citizen’s Center.
