The development of a new state park at the Milltown superfund site has taken a major stride forward to help make the conceptual park plan a reality. Milltown State Park Manager Michael Kustudia says they have recently selected two engineering firms, based in Montana, to help build a trail in the Milltown area.

DJ&A, P.C. has been selected as the design consultant for the development of the Milltown Gateway and Confluence areas, as well as the connecting trail system that will provide the pedestrian link between the two areas. A second firm, CTA Engineers Architects, has been awarded the contract to design a pedestrian bridge across the Clark Fork River just downstream from the former Milltown Dam site. Design work for the trail and bridge projects will begin this summer, with a public open-house planned for September.
