In 2007, the Greater Yellowstone Coordinating Committee Sustainable Operations Subcommittee began inventory on greenhouse gas emissions from federal operations, and discovered that greenhouse gas emissions totaled over twenty-six-thousand  metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalents.
