The American Red Cross continues to deliver relief supplies to affected communities throughout Montana. On Sunday volunteers delivered clean up kits, family kits, and comfort kits to families in Roundup and Rocky Boy. Additionally, trucks were en route Sunday with 100 clean up kits to be distributed within the towns of Sun River, Sims and other communities near Great Falls on Monday. The Red Cross is working closely with local officials in communities affected by flooding, assessing specific needs. Outreach teams consisting of mental health, health services, and client casework will be fanning out within these affected communities in the coming week to study need and provide additional recovery resources. Sheltering and feeding continue on the Crow Nation to ensure families who are unable to return to damaged structures have a safe place to stay. Additionally, 150 cots, 300 blankets and comfort kits that consist of hygiene items were delivered to Ft. Peck in preparation for potential flooding. Shelter locations in that community have been identified and volunteers are ready to respond as needed.
