$75,000 Bond for man who Crashed Victim’s Vehicle Multiple Times
44 year-old Christopher Hill is in the Missoula County Jail on $75,000 bond charged with multiple crimes including felony criminal endangerment, driving under the influence of drugs and a parole violation.
At his Missoula Justice Court appearance before Judge Alex Beal, Deputy Missoula County Attorney Carrie Garber said Hill is a persistent offender and a danger to society.
“This individual is a persistent felony offender under Montana law currently has prison sentence that he is serving and is going to likely be revoked on his criminal history as nine prior felony convictions including two robberies, drugs tampering and burglaries,” said Garber.
Garber said Hill pursued and struck the victim’s vehicle several times on I-90 putting many lives at risk while under the influence of methamphetamine.
When law enforcement finally caught up with him, Your Honor, he could not answer their questions and was growling at invisible objects,” she said. “He's clearly a danger and extreme risk to this community based upon his criminal history and his conduct in this case.
“In this particular case, Your Honor, the state is alleging that he rammed another driver on the interstate three separate times at interstate speeds while under the influence of methamphetamine,” she said. “When the other driver pulled over, the defendant did as well and then tried to get into the other drivers vehicle. The victim then attempted to drive away but the defendant held on to his door and was dragged down the interstate.”
Garber further described the defendant’s violent and disturbing actions.
“When law enforcement finally caught up with him, Your Honor, he could not answer their questions and was growling at invisible objects,” she said. “He's clearly a danger and extreme risk to this community based upon his criminal history and his conduct in this case.”
Judge Beal set bond for Hill at $75,000 and remanded him back to the Missoula County Jail.
