36 year-old Kaill Vincent Simpson appeared in Missoula Justice Court on Tuesday charged with three felony counts of sexual intercourse without consent after allegedly raping a child over several years..

According to court documents, Simpson allegedly forced his victim, then in second grade to have sexual activity with him, and then again when she was in the fourth grade.

The victim, now 14, met with counselors at First Step and related the incidents.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Mark Handelman asked for bail to be set at $150,000.

"Charges have been filed for three counts of sexual intercourse without consent, for forcing the victim to engage in sexual activity with him while between the ages of eight and eleven," Handelman said. "The defendant currently lives in Helena with at least two other young children. His criminal history includes a conviction for felony assault on a police officer."

Handelman also asked for severe restrictions on Simpson should he be released on bond.

"Absolutely no contact with the victim, including third party contact," he said. "No contact with anyone else in the family including mother, father, siblings, step-parents as well as being estranged from their residence. The defendant has been attempting to contact the victim's mother recently, and threats of violence have been made against the victim in the past, and the State is concerned."

Judge Landee Holloway sat bail at $150,000 and ordered Simpson to appear in court again on December 6.
