The supply of type o negative blood at the American Red Cross has dropped to significantly low levels, and donors are needed. A shortage often occurs during the summer months when fewer donors are giving, because of summer vacations. Donor Recruitment Manager, for the Montana Red Cross, Darla Ewer, explains the importance of type of negative blood.

Ewer says it is very critical that they keep a large quantity of O-negative blood on hand at all times.
