Don't forget to lock your car doors, Missoula! Missoula County Sherriff’s Office Public Information Officer Paige Pavalone said West Riverside, a neighborhood within Bonner, has been seeing a lot of vehicle break-ins recently.

"We had residents over there report that there was several vehicles broken into," Pavalone said. "As far as we know, witnesses say at least six vehicles, not all of which that had been reported to the sheriff's office. One vehicle in particular that was broken into had several thousand dollars worth of camera equipment, and the person that owned that car, that was her livelihood, and she supported her family with her photography business."

Pavalone said she’s encouraging everyone who lives in West Riverside—as well as across Missoula—to lock their vehicles, take all valuables into your house with you, and if you see anything suspicious—report it.

"We hear from the neighbors in that community that it happened to multiple cars, but those people didn't call it into the sheriff's office, or 911, because it was just a few dollars here or there," Pavalone said. "We want to know about those numbers. If someone's car is broken into and they stole change, or shoveled through their car and rifled through their glove box, we still want to know about it, even if nothing was taken."

Pavalone said you can also leave an anonymous tip with Crimestoppers at (406) 721-4444.
