Missoula police are searching for someone who broke into a local office building earlier this week.

Public Information Officer Travis welsh said the break-in took place in the 700 block of West Alder.

"A woman reported that her business office had been entered and items taken from it," Welsh said. "It does not appear that forcible entry was used to gain access, however, the woman was sure that the office was securely locked."

The report indicates that among the items stolen was a valuable musical instrument.

"The value was placed at over $1,000, so it was a substantial loss," he said. "Naturally, we're interested in returning the stolen items to the owner."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Jim Klawitter at 552-6642, or to remain anonymous, call Five valley Crimestoppers at 721-44-44.
