After asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in a series of mail theft crimes, Missoula county authorities now have more information on who the perpetrator might be.

"We had a situation with checks being stolen from mailboxes on the west side of Missoula County," said Missoula County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Paige Pavalone. "There's been a total of four. Two came from Frey Road which is off of Mullan road and two other ones came from homes near the Evaro Hill area. After we received numerous Crimestopper tips, we have identified a suspect and we are looking for that suspect right now."

The suspect's name is Allen “Goober” Rankin. He lives in St. Ignatius but may be hiding somewhere else. He is a 42-year-old native American standing six feet two inches tall and weighing 210 pounds. He has numerous tattoos and may be traveling with a woman by the name of Bethany Caye-Cajune.

Caye-Cajune absconded her probation out of Missoula County.
